2 dead, 3 hurt in crash, car fire in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities in New Mexico say two people are dead and three others were hurt after a stolen vehicle crashed and caught on fire. The Bernalillo County Sheriff's office said the crash happened Friday night when officers started to follow a stolen vehicle that then attempted to elude them while driving recklessly. Officers tried to spike the tires but weren't able to stop the offending vehicle before it crashed into a tow truck. The vehicle caught on fire with four people inside. Officials said two people pulled out have died while two others were rescued and taken to the hospital. The tow truck driver was also taken the hospital.
