DEMING, N.M. (AP) — Two people from Hatch died in a vehicle crash northeast of Deming after their car collided head-on with a second vehicle.
New Mexico State Police say 33-year-old Lourdes Vacio and 12-year-old Janelly Lizette Vacio died when the vehicle they were traveling in on State Road 26 collided with the other vehicle early Saturday morning.
Another passenger in the vehicle containing Lourdes and Janelly Vacio and the driver of the second vehicle are both listed in critical condition at a hospital.
Investigators say alcohol isn't believed to be a factor in the crash.
