Albuquerque authorities investigate fires at 2 chain stores

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities in Albuquerque are investigating several overnight incidents, including fires that damaged two chain stores. The Fire Department says causes of the fires early Saturday morning at Barnes & Noble and Old Navy outlets located at separate shopping centers were under investigation. The Albuquerque Journal (https://goo.gl/UH68it ) reports that police took a suspect into custody but that a police spokesman didn't identify the suspect or provide details on allegations against the suspect. The FBI was already investigating reports of vandalism early Friday at three Starbucks locations in Albuquerque. FBI spokesman Frank Fisher said suspicious devices were placed inside the coffee shops and that one caused minimal damage. Police and FBI spokesmen did not immediately respond to requests for comment Saturday on the latest incidents and the status of their investigations.
