Albuquerque crash victim identified as 14-year-old girl

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police say a mother remains in critical condition after a crash that killed her 14-year-old daughter. Authorities released a statement Thursday identifying the girl as Shaylee Boling. Her 3-year-old brother was also in the vehicle at the time of the Wednesday crash but was not seriously injured. Police say events began Wednesday morning when officers spotted a stolen vehicle and tried to stop it, but discontinued their attempt because of "reckless actions" by the driver. According to police, officers later found the stolen vehicle after it was involved in a crash with the vehicle carrying Boling, her mother, and her brother. Police are still searching for the male driver and a female passenger who fled the scene.
