Albuquerque Police: Suspect In Custody In Killing Of Girl

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police say a 10-year-old girl has been killed and a suspect is in custody. The name of the girl wasn't immediately available Wednesday. Police Chief Gordon Eden says the girl's relatives haven't been notified and no further information will be released until then. A woman who lives in the same apartment complex as the girl says she had turned 10 on Tuesday. Police say officers dispatched Wednesday morning to an apartment complex because of a disturbance call found an altercation that resulted in what police called "serious injuries" to some of those involved. They say detectives with the Violent Crimes and Crimes Against Children units were investigating the death.
