Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting In Albuquerque Parking Lot

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police have arrested a suspect and recovered possible evidence in the fatal shooting of man outside a convenience store. Officer Tanner Tixier says 31-year-old Benjamin Bruce Vigil was booked late Friday on a murder charge. According to investigators, Vigil got into a fight with 39-year-old Michael Lucero, of Zia Pueblo, last week that escalated with the suspect allegedly pulling out a gun. Police say the two men had argued earlier in the day at an apartment complex after Lucero's friend lit fireworks. They encountered each other again at a 7-Eleven. Tixier says detectives executed a search warrant at the apartment where Vigil was staying and located a firearm and ammunition. It was not immediately clear Saturday if Vigil had an attorney.
