Authorities: Taos man accused of 3rd DWI offense in 3 months

TAOS, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say a Taos man has been accused of his third DWI offense in three months. New Mexico State Police say 43-year-old James Duran's latest arrest came on Nov. 17. He was previously arrested by State Police on Sept. 21 and by Taos police on Oct. 4. It was unclear Monday if Duran has a lawyer yet. State Police say Duran was stopped for a roadway violation in September and was charged with DWI, concealing identity, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged with his second DWI when a Taos police officer saw him driving on the wrong side of the road and nearly causing a crash. State Police stopped Duran two weeks ago when he allegedly was driving in a road's center median.
