Final searches for missing Corrales climber in CO yield no trace

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — Final searches for a climber who has been missing since September found no trace. The Aspen Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/2vLuGKV ) David Cook, of Corrales, New Mexico, disappeared during a solo trip to summit peaks in the Maroon Bells area. Numerous searches have been conducted for Cook, including an aerial search of Pyramid Peak and North and South Maroon peaks involving members of Mountain Rescue Aspen and a helicopter in July. All three of the mountains are known for exposure and loose rock. The latest search, which began Saturday, involved Mountain Rescue Aspen, Garfield County Search and Rescue, West Elk Search and Rescue, and Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States. No visible clues to Cook's location were found after teams spent 10 hours in the field.
