ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A judge has reduced the bond amount for an Albuquerque man accused of having a home torture chamber.
KRQE-TV reports that the man is accused of holding his girlfriend against her will in April. Deputies responding to the girlfriend's 911 call found her, a bloodied and passed out person, a Taser, a claw hammer and scissors.
The girlfriend told deputies that the man regularly brought victims home to be tortured.
The man's attorney on Wednesday provided documents from named victims saying the allegations were not true. In response, the judge reduced the man's bond from $100,000 to $70,000.
The prosecutor argued in favor of keeping the higher bond.
The District Attorney's office declined to comment on the case.
