Kirby Cleveland appeared before a federal judge in Albuquerque on Tuesday morning, shackled and wearing a black-and-white striped jumpsuit. The judge ordered an attorney to be appointed for Cleveland and set his next hearing for Wednesday. The 32-year-old Cleveland has been in custody since the deadly shooting of Officer Houston James Largo more than a week ago. The shooting happened after Largo stopped a vehicle on dark county road. Authorities found the officer about 50 yards from the vehicle. He had been shot twice.
