New Mexico head-on collision kills unknown number of people

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico officials say multiple people have died following a head-on collision. According to a news release, Sandoval County sheriff's deputies are investigating the head-on collision between a SUV and a work truck that took place near Cuba in northern New Mexico. Officials suspect alcohol may have contributed to the crash. Lt. Keith Elder says he is unsure how many people died in the crash. The Chevrolet Tahoe had an unknown number of passengers who burned to death. Elder says the work truck driver died and the three other passengers were taken to a hospital. The identities of the deceased will be released after their next of kin is notified.
