New Mexico men remained jailed in Arizona after meth seizure

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) — Two men from New Mexico have been arrested in central Arizona after authorities found 6 ½ pounds of methamphetamine in their car. Yavapai County Sheriff's officials say 35-year-old Eduardo Villalobos-Pizarro and 39-year-old Edger Rivera-Prieto remained jailed Wednesday, each on $150,000 bond. They both are being held on suspicion of the transportation and sale of dangerous drugs and possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia. Sheriff's officials say a deputy pulled over a pickup truck for a moving violation May 31 near Prescott. The deputy says Villalobos-Pizarro was the driver and seemed extremely nervous. A subsequent search of the truck resulted in the seizure of a black plastic bundle containing more than one pound of methamphetamine and five pounds of packaged meth inside a food box in the rear passenger compartment.
