A Bernalillo County Sheriff's sergeant has been injured in a hit-and-run accident while riding his department-issued motorcycle.
Cap. Ray Chavez says the other vehicle involved in the Monday morning accident left the scene in northwest Albuquerque but was stopped a short distance away.
Chavez says the officer suffered leg injuries that aren't life-threatening.
According to Chavez, the driver of the other vehicle was arrested. He says authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and trying to determine whether alcohol was involved.
