Survivor of drunken driven crash Albuquerque files lawsuit

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A survivor in a 2015 drunken driving crash in Albuquerque that killed three people has filed a lawsuit against a man serving a prison sentence for the deadly collision. The Albuquerque Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2lHLfBY) that Adrian Montelongo was a passenger in the vehicle driven by Jacob Jaramillo. Jaramillo is serving a 16-year sentence for vehicular homicide after he drunkenly ran a red light and slammed into another vehicle. The crash killed 20-year-old Grace Sinfield and two brothers, 23-year-old Sergio Mendez-Aguire and 27-year old Roberto Mendez. Montelongo alleges that by driving at an excessive speed while under the influence, Jaramillo "breached his duties" by "negligently and recklessly" crashing into the Mitsubishi. Montelongo alleges that Jaramillo's failure to comply with the law caused his injuries and damages.
