Winter weather advisory scheduled for northern New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A winter weather advisory is scheduled for parts of northern New Mexico. The National Weather Service says wintry weather is expected along a wide stretch of the state's northern border starting Wednesday. Three inches to a half-foot of snow is expected in the San Juan and Jemez mountains, as well as the northern Sangre de Cristo Mountains above 9,500 feet. Chama and Taos are among towns expected to get snow. In the high terrain closest to the Colorado border, there could be more than 10 inches of snow. The 24-hour winter weather advisory is scheduled to go into effect 5 p.m. Wednesday.
