Breitbart editor to speak at the University of New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A writer tied to the "alt-right" movement and who was banned by Twitter for abusive comments is scheduled to speak at the largest university in the nation's most Hispanic state. The Albuquerque Journal reports (https://goo.gl/tfgoxE ) Breitbart News tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos is slated to speak at the University of New Mexico in January. The campus chapter of Young Americans for Liberty invited Yiannopoulos who is taking part in a national speaking tour. Yiannopoulos, who was banned by Twitter in July, has written columns suggesting women "suck" at job interviews and that fear of Islam is rational. The Breitbart website is considered by many to be the platform of the so-called alt-right. The "alt-right" movement is an offshoot of conservatism mixing racism, white nationalism and populism.
