Gary Johnson Rallies Home State Of New Mexico With Bike Ride

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson says winning the electoral votes from his home state as the Libertarian presidential nominee would send a message that the country is tired of a two-party system. Johnson made the remarks Saturday after completing a six-hour bike ride from Taos to Santa Fe. The former Republican, who is known for being an avid athlete and his fiancee did the 70-mile ride to show that he is the "fittest" candidate. While speaking to dozens of supporters in the Santa Fe Plaza, Johnson criticized both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Johnson also dismissed his recent foreign policy gaffes, saying he would know enough to avoid putting the U.S. military in "unwinnable" situations. He has angered both parties because they fear he'll peel off critical voters.
