Shot Albuquerque Officer Identified; Gunman Sought

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities have identified the Albuquerque police officer shot during a traffic stop of a suspected drunken driver.

Police said Sunday that Lou Golson, a 31-year-veteran of the force, is listed in stable condition following surgery.

Meanwhile, authorities say the gunman remains at large and police asked the public's help in identifying the attacker. Police released three blurry photos taken from Golson's label camera.

Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden said Golson was shot around 2:30 a.m. Saturday after a stopped motorist got out of the vehicle and began shooting.
